church was rocked by the child molestation case of michael gardner. peggy fox, you covered this trial start to finish and you have an exclusive interview today. >> i sat down with the parents of one of his victims. their daughter was only 10 years old when michael gardner molested her and another girl at her daughter's slumber party. when mr. rice heard what mr. sandusky said, it was like deja vu. despite the fact michael gardner was convicted of sexually abusing two young girls, close friends and family members, including his wife, former falls church mayor, robyn gardner, refused to believe he did it. on his sentencing day last month, gardner offered no apology. instead, he insisted he had been wrongly convicted. dan and christina rice, whose daughter was molested by gardner were not surprised. >> gardner and sandusky continue to say that they are innocent, why do you think? >> because they are still fighting it. also, they have wives that love them and families that support them. if they ever admit that they did do it, then they could lose that and you know -- >> it's all they
correspondent michael isikoff joins us now from outside the courthouse. so, michael, explain how this all went down inside. >> reporter: well, as you mentioned, thomas, it was an emotional, at times gut-wrenching hearing. at least two of the victims who gave statements fought back tears as they talked about the damage sandusky had done to them, but probably the single most powerful moment was from victim number four, who did not break down, seemed almost angry and said "i can never forgive you" to sandusky, addressing him. and among the damage he had done, he cannot let his own child out of sight because of fear of what might happen to him. that's the lasting impact of what jerry sandusky had done to him. jerry sandusky himself gave a long, rambling statement all over the map, seemed to duplicate some of what you heard in that audio statement, and he himself broke down and fought back tears towards the end, but it was hard to see the point that he was going to make. it was very clear, by the way, that judge cleland was not happy about that audio broadcast and talked when he sentenced sandusky,

trained for this specific purpose. 4-year-old noelle michaels is learning man's best friend can be a girl's best accessory. noelle's parents say she was tiny at birth, under 2 pounds, a premie who arrived before her lungs could fully develop. >> she's been on oxygen her entire life and we're thinking she'll probably be on it for quite sometime if not forever. good job. >> reporter: noelle is constantly tethered to an oxygen tank. this tank weighs ten pounds. noelle weighs 30 pounds. a big load for a little girl to carry alone. but that's where monty comes in. this georgia girl with a similar lung condition and her service dog were on the "today" show. that segment inspired noelle's mother to find the same help for her daughter. the michaels did some research and with donations they collected $10,000 to get their own service dog. monty came from north star, the foundation typically providing dogs to autistic kids. but they took the challenge to match noelle and monty. monty was trained just for noelle. >> tell me what you think about your dog. >> good. >> reporter: it's good? >> yeah. >> r

michael and son weather cam. it is gorgeous. finally some drier air has moved in. we're really going to feel it tonight. temperatures the p -- temperatures want. eventually in the 50s. the winds finally shifted north to northwest at 12. that will also bring in the much more comfortable air as we go through the nighttime hours. even though technically a cold front has gone on through. remember that it is just a wind shift and we have the wind shift, but it will not bed colder tomorrow, still spectacular. speaking of cold though. we're going to go ahead and zoom in to northern minnesota where they have had some winter storm watches and warnings there. it is five inches of snow. now, this is the cold front that we will be watching over the weekend. and that's what's going to really turn the tables for you on sunday. i mean we're going to lose 20 degrees for you between saturday and sunday. and in the meantime, all the showers, all the clouds, they are pushing away, now we're getting the drier air in here. it will be real nice. comfortable. 76 at great falls. they are comfortable and wel
